The End Men formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2010. Matthew Hendershot (guitar and vocals) and Livia Ranalli (drums, percussion and vocals) surprise most listeners with the powerful sound they produce as a duo. Thundering drums tumble rhythmically down a flight of stairs while fat, greasy guitar riffs heavily shake your butts and raw vocals melt “like chocolate in an ashtray.” “It’s like if Tom Waits sang for Black Sabbath!” expressed one happy and very drunk fan. Comedic interludes offset the energetic musical shack-shaking in an ever evolving, seemingly barely controlled, addictively danceable chaos. Don’t let the reckless abandon fool you however as just behind the facade sits talent and musical skill that has been decades in the making. They have toured extensively since the band’s beginnings, covering major markets in the Northeast and Midwest United States including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Nashville, Kansas City and all stops in between. Also, they have toured Europe six times and are currently residing in Leipzig, Germany, with plans to keep touring Europe on a regular basis. The End Men have supported a wide variety of international rock acts, including Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, My Goodness, Urban Junior, The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass Band (son of Wynton Marsalis), and Rusted Root. They have also appeared on a range of festival stages including the main stage of Some Kind of Jam, the headline slot on the main stage act of Lark Fest, multiple years of the Utica Music and Arts Festival, Infringement Festival, and other events of national and international relevance.
